Along with a handful of artists including Kirby and Ditko,
Colan mastered a myriad of artistic areas.

This week contains some sad news - the passing at age 84 of Gene Colan, one of the top comics creators of all time.

The usual "end of an era" and "he will be missed" quotes don't begin to describe what a loss this is for the hundreds of thousands of Colan fans around the world.

His superhero artwork has been inspiring awe since the 1960s dawn of what became known as the Marvel Age of Comics.
